Is your Website Secure with SSL and HTTPS?

Jon Web Design • Jun 06, 2018

I explain why its necessary to have an SSL Certificate and HTTPS enabled on your website.

Any Existing client on my newer plans have now been Automatically Enabled with SSL and HTTPS.

"What happens if I don't upgrade for SSL?"

Your Website will continue to work like normal, however when the update comes through your website will be marked as not secure as per the image below, this will also result in your website moving down the rankings in Search Results in favor of websites that do have SSL and HTTPS enabled.

"Why didn't our website have SSL to begin with?"

SSL was previously something that was only required for websites accepting payments, Our Sitebuilder E-commerce plans had SSL for this reason, but this is why your Sitebuilder Basic plan never had the option for SSL as it was an extra cost and it was considered a luxury for standard websites, now that its a standard I have absorbed the cost into my newer Sitebuilder plans but can't provide SSL as included with older plans due to the increased cost and lower plan prices.
