How do I use the Comment Tool?

If you've received an email about a comment on your website, it's time to log in and take a look.
Sitebuilder’s Comment Tool lets you give direct feedback right on the site, saving time and keeping everything organized in one place.

Here’s how to access and use comments to review your site effectively.

📩 Step 1: Open the Email and Log In

  • You should’ve received a notification email that you were left a comment on your website.
  • Click the "Open Comment" link next to the comment or "Open link" button in the email.
  • You’ll be asked to log in to Sitebuilder using your credentials. If you haven’t set up an account yet, check your inbox for a separate invitation email and follow the steps there.

💬 Step 2: Browse in Comment Mode

  • Once you click the link and log in you will be taken in to the editor in comment mode.
  • You’ll now see comments listed down the right hand menu, and perhaps a few number markers placed on the site wherever feedback has already been left.

👀 Step 3: Review Existing Comments

  • Click on any comment in the list to be taken directly too it to see the context of the message.
  • Click Reply next to any comments to add any remarks, upload photos or attach files required.

✍️ Step 4: Leave Your Own Comments

Want to suggest changes, ask a question, or give feedback?

  • Make sure Comment Mode is still active, if you find you need to get back into it, Look for the comment icon (💬) at the top of the screen and click it.
  • Hover over any part of the page and click to place a new comment.
  • Type your message and hit Submit.

✅ Step 5: Resolve or Follow Up

If something is completed or no longer relevant, click Resolve on the comment.

You can revisit or reopen resolved comments at any time from the comment panel by filtering by resolved comments.

📋 Tips for Giving Effective Feedback

  • Be specific: Point to exactly what you want changed.
  • One idea per comment helps keep things organized.
  • Try to resolve threads once your point is addressed—it helps your designer track progress.

🧠 What to Know

  • Comments are only visible inside the Sitebuilder editor, not on the live site, your web designer will be notified of any new comments you leave on on your site.
  • If you don’t see the comment icons while editing, make sure Comment Mode is turned on.
  • Only users with access to the editor and your website can see or leave comments.
